Postgraduate Training in Supervision in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy

The Postgraduate Training in Supervision in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is a 1.5 year program. The number of participants will be 10. The Postgraduate Training in Supervision will start in June 2013. To be eligible for the Postgraduate Training in Supervision in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, applicants need to have a Master degree in Clinical Psychology or Medical doctor and completed the Residency program in Psychiatry/Child Psychiatry, have at least 5 years as well as current on-going clinical experience in mental health, need to have certified continuous clinical mental health training, be fluent in written and spoken English and to have the personal and professional aptitude to serve as supervisor. Although an occupation or employment as a clinical psychologist is essential, it is not explicitly incorporated in the training to allow a successful completion unattached to employment status. There is no tuition fee, but participants need to provide 100h free of charge supervision to participants of the Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy; there are no additional costs or fees. The training compromises the following modules:

 

Training

The training is organized in 6 full-day workshops with Swiss, international and Kosovarian experts, as well as eLearning modules and self-study of literature. The training workshops are grouped in two tracks (Basics in Supervision and Basic Skills in Supervision), so that participants will be knowledgeable in the basic concepts and skills of supervision. Clinical Practice in Supervision

The module Clinical Practice in Supervision compromises the demonstration and documentation of practical and theoretical skills in supervision of clinical psychologists. The practical skills can be obtained by providing 100h supervision to the participants of the Training in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, addressing core areas of clinical work, such as psychotherapy, psychodiagnostics, counselling, trainings, etc. The 100h supervision consists of 50h small-group supervision with 4-6 participants and 50h by individual supervision.

 

Supervision of Supervision

The module Supervision of Supervision provides the opportunity to discuss and obtain feedback by experienced supervisors in clinical psychology and encompasses 30h of supervision of the participants' own supervision. The Supervision of Supervision will be organized in groups of 5 via Skype or will be organized as group supervision in one-day workshops with Swiss, international and Kosovarian experts.

 

Case reports

Participants need to write three case reports about their own supervision.
